We are sad to say goodbye this week to two of our staff.
Mrs Roberts, our school business manager, is retiring after 12 years at our school and Ken, our crossing-patrol officer, is also leaving his post.
We would like to say a huge thank you to both for their dedicated service.
After the success of the first club at Mosspits, Professor Poopenshtinken, the mathematical genius, came back to visit us this week.
He amazed us again with his incredible brainpower. He led an assembly for our children where he challenged Mrs Owens (who was also helped by Dylan and Isobel) to a Maths Race to prove he is the greatest mathematician ever. The Professor used giant magical number rods and stunned Mrs Owens by adding four 3 digit numbers in his head more quickly than she could using a calculator. We thought the Professor had got one wrong but he somehow managed to add up four 3 digit numbers on the back of the rods that he hadn't even seen! The children were mesmerised! He told all the children that he could teach them to do the same tricks using only the power of numbers.
The Professor's friends will be coming back to school after half term (on Wednesdays starting 2nd November) to run super fun Magical Maths Clubs. This club is for Y1 and Y2 children and it will run for 6 consecutive weeks.
