  • National Numeracy Challenge

Wed 24 Feb 2016 Miss Lisney

If you would like to support your child further in their maths work, have a look at this website nationalnumeracy.org.uk.  It gives lots of ideas of games and activities for your child to do across the different ages.  Also if you are looking to improve your maths skills, you can take the Numeracy Challenge on the website.  After taking the challenge, it will give you a score, show you the areas in maths you can improve on and then teach you how to make those improvements.

  • Chinese New Year 2016

    Tue 09 Feb 2016 p

We'll be celebrating the Year of the Monkey in February for our school's Chinese New Year celebrations.

Although the official Chinese New Year date is February 8th, we'll be celebrating this on different days, with the main event for Mosspits, on Tuesday February 9th.

In EYFS, they have set up a Chinese restaurant in the role-play area and they will be learning about Chinese culture, music and tradition.

Dance workshops have been organised for EYFS and Y2 with a Chinese dragon dance theme, on February 1st.

We have a range of creative, enrichment activities planned for our main day of celebration on February 9th. In particular, we welcome members of the Liverpool Confucius Institute into school who will provide a Tai Chi presentation to Years 3 - 6 and workshops for EYFS and Y2. This will include Chinese art (paper-cutting), language activities and Tai Chi.

If any of families from Liverpool's Chinese community would like to be involved in our celebrations, please contact school; we would love to hear from you.

Finally, we have been very fortunate that our Year 1 classes have been invited by the Confucius Institute to attend one of their prestigious shows at the Everyman Theatre, to welcome the Year of the Monkey with a professional Chinese troupe and local schools performing kung-fu, dance, drama, physical theatre and spoken word. It promises to 'bring colour, traditions and atmosphere of the Spring Festival!'

  • NSPCC Number Day

    Fri 05 Feb 2016

    Dear Parents/Carers

This year we will be raising money for NSPCC and will be supporting their NSPCC Number Day which is on Friday 5th February.  The day will be spent doing lots of fun, enrichment maths activities and we will be having some parents who have volunteered to come into school to share with the children how they use Maths in their jobs.

We are going to ask the children to come in on the day wearing something linked to maths, for example numbers, shapes, patterns.

We would like to politely ask for a voluntary contribution of £1.

    Many thanks

    Miss Lisney
