Olympic assembly with Sarah Stevenson MBE
It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Sarah Stevenson MBE to school on Tuesday of Health Week, thanks to Claire Povlotsky from LSSP, who arranged this.
Sarah is the most successful GB taekwondo athlete of all time. She's a former Olympic medalist and World Champion at Taekwondo. Her assembly was inspiring and mapped her journey from a young athlete learning her sport, to the dedication and hard work it took to be the best in the world at her sport. She showed pupils her bronze medal and also a video of her performing. One of the highlights she showed the children was when she was chosen to read out the athletes oath at the London Olympic Games in 2012.
Her message to the children was to never give up on your dreams, work hard and practice hard, believe in yourself and overcome obstacles and problems with determination.

Sarah also presented Alex and Eleanor with certificates for the winning torch design from a competition run by LSSP.
