Following on from the Reading Quality Mark that Mosspits achieved earlier this year, the school has now been accepted onto an exciting new pilot project for 'Liverpool Counts' Numeracy for Life Quality Mark. The quality mark wants to promote positive attitudes to numeracy as an essential life skill and not just to be used in the classroom. During the next few months we will be looking at different ways to show the pupils that numeracy skills are used consistently in everyday life.
Wednesday 14th October was World Maths Day and this year we decided on a rugby theme, due to the Rugby World Cup currently taking place in England. The children took part in rugby themed maths challenges and solved maths problems involving rugby in the classroom and also using our large 'Maths on a Mat' in the hall. Most of the year groups were also able to take part in a rugby session outside led by 2 rugby coaches.
Some photos from the day will be on the website soon.
THANKSGIVING SERVICE
Dear parents/carers,
Our Thanksgiving Service was held on Thursday 15th October at 9:30am and led by Rev J Eastwood , of Holy Trinity Church in Wavertree.
Thank you all for generous donations of tinned and dried food for the South Liverpool Food Bank, an organisation that helps families in times of crisis; we really appreciate this.
Yours sincerely,
