VE DAY: 70TH ANNIVERSARY
We will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of VE day on Friday May 15th 2015.
All classes across the school will take part in creative activities such as learning how to play street party games, watching film footage and reading historical stories and extracts to learn about the significance of VE day and aspects of World War II.
Weather permitting, we will have a picnic-style street party lunch and all children will be provided with iced lollies thanks to our Parents Association who will also decorate the playground (or canteen if weather is poor). Our school canteen are also baking a VE day cake for every class to enjoy.
Children are able to come to school in red, white or blue (or even all three) if they wish to.
Both the Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson and the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Erica Kemp, visited our school this week.
This was great for our school and its pupils and we were very proud to welcome them both on different days. Our children were able to question them and find out the differences between the two. Behaviour was fantastic!
A brilliant effort by the team and a great experience.
