On Wednesday September 23rd, we'll be celebrating European Day of Languages 2015. (This date actually falls onto the Saturday, so we have decided to celebrate it a few days earlier.)
We have a range of creative enrichment activities taking place in school, all French-themed, as this is our school's chosen language of study. Pupils will watch French-language films, read French stories, play French playground games and learn about French culture and places. Classes will explore artists such as Seurat and Rousseau and composers such as Saint-Saens. Some classes will try French food and we also have French-themed school lunch available in the canteen (see lunch menu). We are also lucky enough to have a French family in our school community and Mr Levy has kindly offered to come in and work with some of our classes. What a great way to hear French being spoken and to learn about French culture first-hand.
We are in the process of setting up links with a school in France which we are very excited about. More details will follow.
Parents/carers - if you have any French language skills that you could offer of this day and would like to be involved, pleased contact me (email below).
Kind regards,
Miss H Vernon
