Why do we want to be a Rainbow Flag school?
First and foremost, the Rainbow Flag Award is a commitment to improving the lives of all pupils, as well as the LGBT+ young people in our care, those from LGBT+ families, and LGBT+ staff members.
Furthermore, it's a legal requirement, as part of the Equality Act 2010, to ensure that schools promote equality and tackle discrimination based on a person’s protected characteristics; LGBT+ identities are a core part of this.
