On the last day of term Thursday 2nd April we are holding an egg-citing Easter Eggstravaganza Competition. For a £1 entry fee, children can bring in decorated hardboiled eggs. These can be displayed as a decorated egg or be made into a model or be one of several eggs as part of a scene.
Designs should be labelled with your child’s name and class and brought into school on Thursday 2nd April along with the entry fee. A winner will be chosen from each class and they will receive an Easter Egg Prize.
So make sure your designs are eggscellent and eggstra special!!
Thanks for taking part.

We have several outbreaks of sickness across the school at present. Please can we advise that pupils who develop sickness and/or diarrhoea should be kept off school until 48 hours after the last episode. This will help us to avoid the spreading of this.
Thank you for your support.
Some of our talented Year 5 mathematicians participated in the Primary Maths Challenge at Blue Coat school this week.

We had a day of fantastic fundraising in school on RED NOSE DAY, Friday 13th March!
We always participate in fundraising for Comic Relief as it's a fantastic cause that helps millions of people less fortunate than us. This year, the theme ws 'Make your face funny for money' and so pupils came to school with weird, wacky or wonderful creations on their faces!
There were a tonne of ideas on the Comic Relief website pages here:

Thank you to you all for your generosity in providing a voluntary donation in return for children being able to take part in the funny face creations.
We've been celebrating World Book Day 2015 in school by taking part in a range of reading activities across the school.
Children and staff came to school dressed in the most fabulous, creative costumes. And best of all? Drop Everything and Read (D.E.A.R) sessions across the school. How amazing is it to just stop, sit and share a good book?
Loads of fun ideas for you to use at home on the World Book Day site here:
We are incredibly proud to announce that we have been working towards attaining the Reading Quality Mark award and have been assessed in February as attaining the GOLD category. In partnership with the National Literacy Trust, the Liverpool Reading Quality Mark has been developed to focus on promoting reading for enjoyment.
The school was assessed by a member of the local authority, who spent the day looking around our school, speaking to the Head Teacher and senior leaders, as well as groups of children and our pupil reading ambassadors. Schools can attain bronze, silver or gold, so we are delighted to be awarded the highest grade possible.
The project has been led by Mrs Griffiths, our school's lead for Reading and a huge amount of work has gone into developing a love of reading for our children and adults in the school community.
We are very proud of all involved! Find out more here:
