TALK FOR WRITING
Use the T4W at Home Booklet to exploring ‘The Amazing Adventures of Max’.
Read the story together, read it again and encourage your child to read parts of it, or remember parts of it.
You could use the SoundCloud recording of it too.
Then talk about the story using the questions and pictures on pages 5 and 6.
Review the Phase 3 letters and sound. There are lots of resources on the website.
For those that are ready, try Phase 4 too!
Look at the Maths Mastery notes: Maths Learner Reception
Try Activity 3: Target
Use the notes and suggestions - you could print the resources or make your own.
Watch and learn the Double Numbers Song!
UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD
Exploring Floating & Sinking.
You could do this in the sink, the bath or outside in a bucket or even a paddling pool!
Investigate which things sink and which float.
Why do some things float? How fast or slow do things sink? What materials are things made from?
Challenge: Try to make an egg float
Try out the SuperMovers Website —it links movement to Maths, English, PSHE and French.
Also try Cosmic Kids Yoga—it uses storytelling with yoga movements. Start with the short videos .
PSED AND MUSIC
Use the website: https://www.fischytunes.com/
There are songs that are linked to how you are feeling, if you’re feeling in a negative mood they help you talk about it and hopefully, help you change your mood to something more positive. Over the next week try and track your mood during the day. You can use this template below.
What type of music makes you feel happy, calm, sad, energised?
Do you have a favourite style of music? What types of music do you family enjoy?
Where an animal lives is called it’s habitat.
Create a habitat for the Bog Baby - does it live in a hole, a house, a tree? What surrounds where they live? Do they live with other Bog Babies?
Draw a picture, build a model or even a den!
Talk about your ideas and share them with your teacher.
Share your work with us!
Take photos and send them to your teacher via email or Class Dojos.
