Understanding the World / RE - Celebrations
International Mandela Day - 18th July
We are finding out who Nelson Mandela was and why he was so important.
Watch the videos below.
Talk to an adult about what they know about Nelson Mandela.
Like Nelson Mandela - think about how you could make a difference today.
Think about it, draw it and then try and do it! Maybe you could challenge the whole family to get involved.
There are also some lovely South African colouring sheets and dot-to-dots (you need to count to 100!)
PSED - When I grow up...
We're also thinking about what we would like to be when we grow up.
What do you enjoy doing now?
What job would you like to do in the future? Can you imagine it?
Use the resources below to think about jobs that you could do - you could even sing the song!
Then draw a picture of you doing that job - use the sheet below if you want to.
But remember... you will need to work hard to achieve your dream and some jobs haven't even been invented yet!!
Look back over the weeks and see if you have missed anything, or would like to revisit something you've done before.
It is always good to review the phonics, this will help you when you start Year 1.
We were planning two school trips during the remainder of the year, unfortunately the lockdown stopped this, but I thought you might enjoy some virtual trips to: an aquarium in Spain, a zoo in America and theme parks in various places!
This is the last of our on-line home learning posts before the summer holidays.
Keep reading and exploring life around you - learning can happen in many different ways!
Stay safe and try to make a difference everyday.
We will see you again in September when you start Year 1!
