Paralympic gold medalist visitor!

We were SO excited to have Lora Turnham visit us during December, to show us the gold medal she won in the Rio 2016 Paralympic games as a para-cyclist.

Lora, an ex-pupil of Mosspits, suffers from a hereditary sight loss condition which also affects her two brothers and her mother. When she was just five years old she lost her sight leaving her with only light perception and she relies on her guide dog Libby, to get around.

Lora gave a fantastic talk to all of our pupils and truly inspired the staff and children with the underlying message of how you should never give up on what you believe in and work hard to achieve your dreams.

Here are Lora's achievements in 2016 alone:

UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships, Montichiari (Italy)
Bronze, Pursuit (with Corrine Hall)

UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup, Ostend (Belgium)
Silver, Road race (with Corinne Hall)
Silver, Time trial (with Corinne Hall)

Paralympic Games, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
Gold, Pursuit (with Corrine Hall)
Bronze, Time trial (with Corrine Hall)

We hope that she can keep in touch and return to school at a later date!
